Job Overview
The Manufacturing Engineer is tasked with documenting, controlling, and enhancing the processes for manufacturing TimberPro products at the Shawano TimberPro facility. This role collaborates closely with production supervision, planning, purchasing, design engineering, and accounting to drive improvements across the facility, focusing on safety, quality, new product development, delivery, and cost efficiency. The manufacturing engineer will also oversee capital improvement projects throughout the facility.
Key Job Responsibilities
- Plan and design manufacturing processes in the industrial plant
- Analyze equipment layout, workflow, assembly methods, and workforce utilization to maximize efficiency
- Determine necessary parts and tools to meet manufacturing goals according to product specifications
- Execute manufacturing aspects of the engineering change notification process in collaboration with buyers and planners
- Plan, design, research, present approval documentation, and manage manufacturing capital projects
- Communicate project needs with Engineering, Operations, Supply Chain, and Vendors to ensure timelines and product quality standards are met
- Complete reports, record test findings, and address issues professionally
- Supervise interns to assist in manufacturing improvement projects when necessary
Qualifications/Requirements
Ideal candidates should hold a Bachelor of Science in Industrial or Mechanical Engineering or a related technical degree in hydraulics or welding. A minimum of five (5) years' experience in a Heavy Manufacturing Environment dealing with Mechanical, Electrical, and Hydraulic Systems is essential. Previous project management, people management, and leadership experience is a plus. Proficiency in MS Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access) and intermediate skills in Infor Syteline, PIPS, SAP, and inventory planning systems are required. Candidates must possess analytical and critical thinking abilities, strong written and verbal communication skills, and be willing to travel up to 10%. A positive and cooperative attitude towards customers, employees, and the Company is essential, along with compliance with environmental, quality, and safety standards.
