Exciting news WSP is offering a compelling career opportunity for a Water Service Line Leader to join our Texas team. In this role, you'll oversee the Environmental Water group within the Texas Operation and engage with water leaders from the West Region and the U.S.

This position can be based in Austin, Dallas, El Paso, Houston, or San Antonio, providing a fantastic chance for career advancement, a supportive work environment, and diverse challenging projects. You'll work with a skilled team on some of the most stimulating projects in the West, mentoring talented engineers in a collaborative and flexible setting focused on teamwork, quality, and exceptional client service.

Our ideal candidate is technically proficient, adept at managing client relationships, dedicated to delivering quality work, and eager for a leadership role. You'll be involved in various U.S.-based projects, ranging from FEMA Risk MAP activities to transportation drainage and similar water resources projects.

Join us and be part of a team dedicated to completing a range of Risk MAP products and other water resource projects, working closely with local and national colleagues towards successful project outcomes.

Your Impact
  • Collaborate with other Water Resources Service Line Leaders supporting hydraulics and hydrology groups across the West region.
  • Lead a skilled project team in tasks such as developing hydrologic and hydraulic models, conducting flood hazard mitigations, and preparing planning reports.
  • Drive drainage design activities for various projects including highways, culverts, storm drain systems, and hydraulic structures.
  • Lead and assist in business development efforts to expand market share, supervise staff for optimal productivity, recruit new talent, and manage project teams effectively.
  • Act as a program/project manager, provide technical expertise on flood risk management projects, and ensure the quality of project deliverables.
  • Communicate project outcomes effectively through oral discussions, presentations, and documentation.
  • Travel to project sites, attend public meetings, and contribute to financial and project management reporting.
Who You AreRequired Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field, Master's degree preferred.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license required, Texas license preferred.
  • Proficiency in stormwater management, hydrology, and hydraulic practices.
  • Over 10 years of experience in hydrology, hydraulics, water resources, and drainage infrastructure design.
  • Familiarity with software such as FLO2D, HEC1/HEC-HMS, Microstation, and others.
  • Expertise in GIS for data import, manipulation, and analysis.
  • Strong leadership, client management, and project management skills.
  • Excellent communication abilities and knowledge of flood insurance regulations.
  • Must pass background check and possess a satisfactory driving record.
