Job Summary

Teach one, two, or three classes, in-person, in a general education sequence of Humanities courses in the College of Arts and Sciences



Responsibilities

teach in a "great books" sequence of Humanities courses as part of an interdisciplinary faculty team, with a fall course covering ancient/medieval works in the Western tradition, a January term course covering the Reformation and Renaissance periods, and a spring course focused on the modern period
* deliver lectures as assigned and lead class discussions on course material
* grade assignments and tests, maintain a class Moodle page, and support students as needed to promote their learning
* contribute to an academic environment that seeks to advance inclusive excellence in the Humanities program



Skills

ability and interest in teaching undergraduate students entering into rigorous college-level work in a residential liberal arts environment
* ability to work with a team
* clear communication and organizational skills



Experience

College teaching experience in a discipline in the Humanities or Social Sciences strongly preferred



Education

Master's degree in a discipline in the Humanities or Social Sciences required; PhD preferred
