Job Title: Yard Hostler at Bob Evans Farms

Responsibilities:
  • Support the Springfield Transportation domicile for retail and commercial freight
  • Work closely with Logistics Manager to ensure equipment availability
  • Possess a valid Class A CDL and maintain a clean driving record
  • Adhere to all company safety policies and DOT regulations
  • Perform pre and post-trip inspections on yard truck
  • Inspect freight and loading conditions before signing outbound documents
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment
Accountabilities:
  • Valuing safety in the workplace and ensuring compliance with regulations
  • Complete required safety refresher courses
  • Full compliance with all DOT and FMCSA regulations
  • Complete FDA training related to the Food Safety Modernization Act
  • Perform thorough vehicle inspections and maintain proper logs
  • Shuttle equipment between yards and docks
  • Wash and sanitize reefer trailers during downtime
Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • 1+ year handling refrigerated freight, 2+ years as a Class A CDL operator
  • Yard truck and forklift experience
Additional Requirements:
  • Knowledge of yard checks, ship document reviews, and trailer cleanliness inspections
  • Experience in maintaining a clean cross dock and drop lots
  • Physical ability to lift up to 65 pounds and perform essential job functions
  • Strong attention to detail and adherence to safety protocols
