Position Summary

The Medical Social Worker plans, organizes and initiates the social work needs of the inpatient population and their families to assure that the medically related emotional and social needs of the patient are addressed to support discharge planning and coordination.

Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)

    1. Education:Master's degree in Social work or similar field preferred.
    2. License/Certifications: Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in the State of Maine required.
    3. Experience: Experience working with patients and families with a range of ages and social needs preferred.
    4. Excellent oral and written communication skills, knowledge of community resources and an ability to manage and oversee many details required.
    5. Knowledge of Medicare and MaineCare Regulations helpful.
