Collins Aerospace is looking for a buyer to join our Mission Systems direct procurement team. The ideal candidate will have experience using SAP to support low-volume, high-mix manufacturing environments, preferably within Aerospace & Defense.

To succeed in this position, you will need to build successful relationships with external suppliers and supply chain colleagues. Additionally, you will thrive in collaboration with program management and operations.

This is an ONSITE role located in Cedar Rapids, IA. This position may be eligible for relocation.

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Build and maintain relationships with suppliers that support Simulation and Training Systems programs
  • Request and review quotes, both competitive and sole-sourced
  • Release purchase orders efficiently, including cases with documentation requirements and approval levels
  • Buy components across multiple commodities to support all stages of product life cycles
  • Work closely with colleagues in procurement to ensure successful supplier management and execution in supporting program needs and requirements
  • Analyze material availability and report out to internal customers, communicating clearly and working proactively to address shortages
  • Collaborate with supply chain quality engineers to ensure product quality, including communicating defects to suppliers and arranging for returns/rework
  • Respond to client inquiries about order status, changes, or cancellations to ensure customer satisfaction
Basic Qualifications:
  • Typically requires a University Degree and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years of experience or in absence of a degree, 9 years of relevant experience
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract
  • Experience with supply chain and related systems, procurement, receiving, cost estimating, and finance
  • Prior experience in deadline driven roles with a high-level of problem resolution
  • Experience with Microsoft Office products (Word/Excel)
Preferred Qualifications:
  • SAP experience is preferred
  • Experience working with export controlled technical data (ITAR & EAR) is preferred
  • Experience reading and understanding engineering drawings and other technical data is preferred
  • Experience with subcontracts, make-buy decisions, or supply chain risk management is preferred

The salary range for this role is 77,000 USD - 163,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
