Senior Data Fusion Algorithm Developer at APL

We are looking for a motivated Senior Data Fusion Algorithm Developer to play a key role in the information fusion algorithm development process. You will work with a team of professionals dedicated to providing innovative solutions to critical challenges. Your work will involve delivering valuable information to enhance the advantages of the warfighter over adversaries.

As a Senior Data Fusion Algorithm Developer, you will:

  • Investigate and develop solutions to enhance warfighter capabilities
  • Design rigorous testing and validation methodologies for algorithms
  • Interact with diverse data sets effectively
  • Prepare technical evaluations for a broad audience
  • Create, develop, and debug code
  • Collaborate with external sponsors
  • Lead and direct a technical team
  • Provide expertise in information fusion
  • Mentor junior staff in technical skills related to information fusion
Qualifications
  • BS or MS degree in engineering, mathematics, computer science, or related field
  • 5+ years of professional experience (BS) or 2+ years (MS)
  • Experience in statistics, probability, estimation theory, information theory, or data science
  • Knowledge of linear algebra, calculus, and programming languages
  • Ability to obtain a Secret level security clearance
Desired qualifications
  • Experience with DoD tracking systems and sensor systems
  • Knowledge of stochastic processes, detection and estimation theory, Bayesian inference, and more
  • Proficiency in version control systems like Git
  • Willingness to travel occasionally
  • Hold or able to obtain an active Top Secret clearance
