Scope of Position:

Under the supervision of the Accounting Administrator II and with guidance from the Accounting Administrator I, the incumbent will handle analytical duties related to accounting policy and financial reporting for local government agencies.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Assist in updating accounting guidelines and budget documents as prescribed by the SCO.
  • Analyze proposed accounting standards and legislative proposals to assess their impact on local governments.
  • Participate in the Controller's Annual Conference and represent SCO at work group meetings.
  • Consult with various agencies and provide guidance on financial reporting requirements.
Desirable Qualifications:
  • Knowledge of accounting principles, governmental accounting, and budgeting.
  • Project planning and organization techniques.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Understanding of the State legislative process.
Ability to:
  • Analyze accounting policies and legislation effectively.
  • Communicate diplomatically with local government officials.
  • Prepare clear and concise reports.
  • Establish priorities, meet deadlines, and collaborate with team members.
