We are seeking to grow our highly capable engineering teams to build the best products in the world. The successful candidate is an individual who is never satisfied with continuing with the status quo just because "it's the way things have always been done".

What You'll Get to Do:

The selected candidate will lead the System Engineering/Integration/Test functional team of engineers in support of multiple projects and programs. You will be working within multi-disciplinary hardware and software teams creating networked sensor systems in support of the Department of Defense and other Intelligence Community agencies. You will convey customer understanding and empathy, while connecting across our cross-functional development teams to ensure we continue to deliver timely and impactful results for our customers. You will be responsible for the teams overall technical execution and performance to allocated cost and schedule requirements on assigned programs, while also providing technical contributions on programs as an individual contributor. Your responsibilities will include performing technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, cost and risk, and supportability and effectiveness analyses for total systems. Ensuring the logical and systematic conversion of customer or product requirements into total systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints. Perform functional analysis, timeline analysis, detail trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into hardware and software specifications.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provide leadership over planning, scheduling, and risk management activities.
  • Lead and grow high performance technical teams to innovate and execute both short-term and long-term project goals.
  • Manage the technical staff as they execute programs for multiple government customers, including applied research, integration, and transition phases.
  • Work with project managers to manage budgets, schedules and staffing.
  • Provide staff leadership and oversight to include hiring, performance management, career development, technical direction, and workload management for your teams.
  • Establish process improvements to increase product quality, efficiencies and overall customer and employee satisfaction.
  • Develop systems development life cycle (SDLC) products to include technical requirements specifications, system architectural design documents, test plans, formal design reviews, and technical summary reports
  • Provide rigorous and quantitatively backed engineering estimates for development and tracking of project budgets and schedules
  • Create and champion well-considered technical approaches that meet project budget and schedule constraints
  • Support technical coordination of multidisciplinary technical teams including both software and hardware development, system integration, and release to achieve project objectives
  • Review and consult with synergistic program teams on plans, schedules and scope of work for specific projects and provide engineering options to maintain stability and coordinated approaches across teams
  • Provide program managers and engineering management regular engineering reports to ensure alignment of project objectives, product strategy and technical solutions
  • Produce well-polished technical documents, reports, and presentations for customers (DoDAF familiarity is a plus)
  • Apply at least half of your time working on customer tasking and/or internal research and development (IR&D) efforts as needed.
Required Qualifications:
