WindBorne is currently on the lookout for a highly motivated and organized Operations Coordinator to ensure the efficient functioning of our extensive network of weather balloon launch sites. This role will play a crucial part in collaborating with internal and external teams to enhance our atmospheric data collection efforts for improved forecasting accuracy.

Responsibilities

  • Planning: Manage the balloon launch schedule to ensure the attainment of data collection objectives by considering weather conditions, labor availability, and customer demands.
  • Shipping and Inventory: Collaborate with US and International logistics partners to guarantee timely delivery of essential goods worldwide, with efficient management of sitel inventory.
  • Training: Develop, update, and implement process documentation to ensure safe and effective launches, including potential field training for new launch contractors.
  • Auditing: Oversee compliance with processes and maintenance of equipment to facilitate the scalability of launch operations through regular audits.
  • Business Administration: Handle the daily administrative needs of the launch sites, from bill payments to performance reviews of launch contractors.

Skills and Qualifications

We are looking for a candidate with a proven track record in operations management or a related field, possessing exceptional organizational and multitasking skills. A bachelor's degree in a relevant field is preferred, although equivalent experience will be considered. Strong communication, interpersonal abilities, and effective collaboration with cross-functional teams are essential. Proficiency in Google Suite and related software is a bonus. Most importantly, we seek an adaptable, resourceful individual passionate about contributing to atmospheric research and weather forecasting to make a positive impact on the world.
