This is a co-teaching position in a K-5th grade Christian-based microschool consisting of 10-15 students in a multi-age classroom. The teacher candidate must be familiar with alternative/progressive education models or have an open mind to learn. The teacher candidate must be comfortable with the outdoors as nature studies is heavily imbedded in our curriculum model.
Responsibilities
1. Collaborates with lead teacher to ensure student growth and success.
2. Maintains confidentiality of all students as well as the lead teacher.
3. Supervises students as directed by the lead teacher.
4. Plans for and leads individual and small group core instruction based on student needs.
5. Plans for and leads whole group instruction including project-based learning tasks, learning stations and more.
6. Performs non-instructional classroom duties such as lunch and recess supervision.
7. Participates in professional development trainings as deemed necessary by the lead teacher/director.
8. Performs other duties as requested by the lead teacher/director.
9. Communicates with parents and families in a respectful manner.
10. Reports concerns and incidents to the lead teacher/director.
