Additionally, there is a specialized area for adult and pediatric mental health evaluations. The ED RN is responsible for creating, implementing, and assessing patient care plans following ANA Standards and the nursing process, while also serving as a patient advocate. The ED RN offers support, information, and direct care, demonstrating proficiency in utilizing equipment and technology for nursing procedures. Educating patients and families on important self-care topics is also key. In some cases, managing the inventory, distribution, and delivery of medications may be necessary. Requirements for the ER RN Position: - Licensed and currently registered as a Registered Nurse, with a valid state license. - Possession of American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification. - Prior completion of PALS and ACLS certifications within 6 months of employment. ER RN Work Schedule: - Potential assignment to day, evening, or night shifts, or a combination based on departmental regulations. - Entitled to at least three holidays off annually. - Obligated to work weekends as per unit requirements. - Expected to work extra hours on occasion.
