The New York Philharmonic strives to connect with millions of music enthusiasts every season worldwide. As the Orchestra celebrates its 180-year legacy and prepares for a transformative season, they are looking for a Director, Major Gifts to lead strategic fundraising efforts and oversee donor relationships.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and expand the International Advisory Board to support the Philharmonic globally.
  • Manage the NY Phil Advisory Council to drive strategic impact and prospect for future board service.
  • Cultivate relationships with major donors, solicit gifts, and secure planned giving commitments.
  • Supervise a team responsible for donor cultivation and stewardship efforts.
  • Develop new stewardship initiatives and oversee naming opportunities and gift crediting.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to identify prospects and build a systematic pipelining process.
  • Forecast and track major gifts while serving as a frontline fundraiser at events.
  • Commit to fostering diversity and ensuring an inclusive work environment.

Requirements:

5+ years of major gifts experience, strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently and collaboratively. Previous arts organization experience is a plus.
