JOB DESCRIPTION:

The Paralegal assists attorneys in researching and analyzing pertinent law documents, maintains legal files and databases, schedules meetings, and coordinates correspondence.

  • The Paralegal will be responsible for providing case management support on active litigation, including discovery, and will assist in the management, compilation, organization, and presentation of evidence in court and other proceedings.

Must have knowledge and understanding :

  • Legal principles and practices, experienced in all areas of paralegal duties from the inception of a case to trial and appeal, including but not limited to case management, general research utilizing legal databases (e.g., Westlaw), case retrieval, Bluebooking, cite checking and proof-reading pleadings.

Must have experience:

  • Microsoft Office Suite, the Case Management/Electronic Case Files (CM/ECF) system, and litigation support applications, including RelativityOne.
  • At least five years of litigation experience working in a law firm or legal department. A paralegal certificate is preferred, but not required.
  • Must be able to handle multiple, high-level complex projects at one time and high volumes of work on an ongoing basis, with strong attention to detail.
  • Experience with class or collective actions, especially on behalf of plaintiffs, desirable.
