Resource Specialist (Full-Time) - High School
Location: Altamont, CA
Employment Type: Full-Time

As a Resource Specialist, you will be responsible for developing and implementing individualized education programs (IEPs) for students with diverse learning needs. You will collaborate with teachers, parents, and other school staff to create and maintain an inclusive learning environment that promotes student success.
Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) for students on your caseload.
  • Provide direct instruction and support to students in various subjects.
  • Modify and adapt curriculum materials to meet the diverse needs of students.
  • Monitor and assess student progress, adjusting instructional strategies as needed.
  • Collaborate with general education teachers to support the inclusion of students in mainstream classes.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed records of student progress, IEP goals, and compliance documentation.
  • Participate in IEP meetings, parent-teacher conferences, and professional development opportunities.
  • Provide training and support to teachers and staff on best practices for supporting students with special needs.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages student engagement and participation.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in Special Education or a related field (Masters degree preferred).
  • Valid California teaching credential with a specialization in Special Education.
  • Experience working with high school students with diverse learning needs.
  • Strong knowledge of special education laws, regulations, and best practices.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to create a positive and inclusive learning environment.
