Job Description:

Apply knowledge management concepts, methods and tools to address the information management, information sharing cadence, and research needs of a DoD organization. Work closely with senior government officials to design, develop, and implement a knowledge management strategy and to manage the overall process for the organization to plan, coordinate, manage, share, and control information. Identify and analyze data, information, and knowledge requirements to facilitate the discovery and dissemination of decision quality information. Leverage the interaction of people, processes, and enterprise technologies to capture, store, organize, share, and control implicit and explicit knowledge. Implement continuous process improvement techniques to improve mission processes and enhance access to relevant cross-functional information in a collaborative, timely, and contextual manner. Promote organizational information as a reusable, shared, protected, consistent, and compliant resource. Create, develop and maintain a SharePoint collaboration environment while implementing and supporting knowledge management strategies, plans, processes and procedures, tools, best practices.

Required Skills:

  • 7+ years experience in knowledge management.
  • 3+ years experiencebuilding information technology platforms, software, and tools (such as Microsoft 365/SharePoint) to enable or enhance knowledge management capabilities for a DoD organization.
  • Ability to facilitate information gathering activities, including strategy development sessions, requirement elicitation discussion, and data discovery.
  • Experience with office management, publications and forms management, or preparing, controlling, and processing written communications.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Publisher.
  • Ability to be a self-starter and work independently with minimal direct oversight.
  • Ability to work in a collaborative team environment.
  • Possession of excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Secret clearance.
  • Bachelor’s degree.

Desired Skills:

  • Experience with collaboration or Web service applications, information architectures, records management, and knowledge management principles.
  • Experience with building and customizing SharePoint dashboards, sites, workflows, lists, libraries, content types, security groups, and content policies.
  • Experience with developing and using SharePoint components, including forms, templates lists, external content types, custom lists, service applications, Web parts, master pages, content management and the Business Intelligence Center.
  • Knowledge of workflows and best practices in a SharePoint 2013 or later versions and SharePoint Online environments.
  • Top Secret clearance.
  • Master's degree.
  • CompTIA Security+ Certification.
  • KM Institute Certified Knowledge Manager Certification or similar.
