Purpose and Scope:
Responsible for accurate company and project payroll processing duties in accordance with company, project, state, federal and local policies and regulations.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Under general supervision perform a variety of tasks associated with payroll preparation process and reporting requirements
- Maintain a computerized multi-platform payroll system, involving weekly/bi-weekly payrolls, company and union required labor and payroll reports.
- Access the Deltek Time Collection system to gather data for posting labor and the accounting system to post labor transactions.
- Specific duties will entail processing weekly/bi-weekly payroll, data transmissions, and performing reconciliations.
- Prepare Union, Internal and other external reports as required.
- Perform other duties in the payroll related functional working environment.
- Perform all other position related duties as assigned or requested.
Minimum Position Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:
Associates Degree in Accounting or completion of formal payroll/accounting academic training or equivalent on-the-job training. Possess 2 or more years of directly related experience in automated payroll processing environments. Computer based in-house payroll systems and Union payroll experience is desired. Applicant must possess good general office skills (filing, word processing, personal computer operations, organizational skills, etc.), and demonstrate an ability to process high volume computer input with a high level of accuracy. Function as a team player and possess the ability to interface on all levels with coworkers, employees and management. The experience in computerized payroll systems and the ability to understand data flow and transfers as well as a working knowledge of MS Word and Excel are required. Position requires the ability to maintain confidentiality of records. Qualify for and maintain a TS Security Clearance. Possess a valid state issued driver's license.
Work Environment, Physical Demands, and Mental Demands:
Typical office environment with no unusual hazards, occasional lifting to 20 pounds, constant sitting while using the computer terminal, constant use of sight abilities while reviewing documents, constant use of speech/hearing abilities for communication, constant mental alertness, must possess planning/organizing skills, and must be able to work under deadlines.
