Position Overview: We are seeking a dynamic and compassionate Special Education Teacher to join our team. The Special Education Teacher will play a pivotal role in providing specialized instruction and support to students with diverse learning needs. We are looking for a dedicated professional who is committed to promoting student success through individualized instruction, positive behavior support, and collaboration with families and colleagues.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with disabilities, in alignment with state and federal regulations.
  • Provide differentiated instruction and support to meet the unique academic, behavioral, and social-emotional needs of each student.
  • Collaborate with general education teachers, support staff, and parents to ensure the effective implementation of IEP goals and accommodations in inclusive settings.
  • Use evidence-based practices and instructional strategies to facilitate student learning and engagement.
  • Monitor student progress, collect data, and adjust instructional strategies as needed to support student growth and achievement.
  • Conduct assessments to evaluate student progress, identify areas of need, and determine eligibility for special education services.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential records of student progress, attendance, and behavior.
  • Participate in IEP meetings, parent conferences, and multidisciplinary team meetings to review student progress and discuss instructional strategies and support services.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Special Education or related field from an accredited institution.
  • Valid Oregon teaching license with Special Education endorsement (or eligibility to obtain licensure).
  • Knowledge of state and federal special education laws, regulations, and best practices.
  • Experience working with students with disabilities in a school or educational setting preferred.
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to differentiate instruction and adapt teaching strategies to meet the diverse needs of students.
