Position Overview: We're hiring for a Help Desk Specialist Level II to work at the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center (FLETC) in Glynco, GA. In this position you'll become part of a technically diverse team to include but not limited to other Help Desk Specialists, Network Engineers, System Administrators, and Database Professionals. Together this team provides IT Operations and Support to the Federal Law Enforcement Training Agency which is responsible for training Law Enforcement Professionals from over 90 different agencies.
Position Responsibilities:
- Set up or repair computer equipment and related devices
- Maintain system capabilities by testing existing equipment and programs
- Try out new systems and software
- Document changes, revisions and problems
- Train users on proper use of hardware and software
- Clearly communicate the understanding of the proper use of technology to team
- Manage and train beginner specialists
- Tier I Technician Responsibilities
Requirements
- 1-year of experience troubleshooting software and hardware in a customer service role
- Excellent problem-solving skills and analytical abilities
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills using the English language
- High school diploma or the equivalent
- Prefer candidates with an associate degree with an emphasis on Information Technology such as Network Administration; High School Diploma or equivalent is required
- Prefer candidates with certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+, or Security+
Security Qualifications:
- No security clearance required; Secret Clearance Preferred
- Must be a US Citizen
- Must pass a Federal Law Enforcement Background Investigation
