Caseload: K-12

Soliant Education is seeking a dedicated Teacher for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing to join our team in Port St. Lucie, FL. This full-time position involves serving students across a K-12 caseload in various educational settings. As an itinerant Teacher for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing, you will play a vital role in providing specialized instruction and support to students with hearing impairments.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to the unique needs of students who are deaf or hard of hearing.
  • Provide direct instruction in language development, communication skills, literacy, and other academic areas using appropriate instructional methods and resources.
  • Collaborate with classroom teachers, speech-language pathologists, audiologists, and other support staff to facilitate inclusive learning environments and promote student success.
  • Assess student progress and adjust instructional strategies as needed to meet educational goals.
  • Advocate for students' needs and provide support to families in navigating resources and services.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential records in compliance with state and federal regulations.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Deaf Education, Special Education, or a related field.
  • Valid Florida teaching license with endorsement in Deaf Education (or eligibility to obtain licensure).
  • Fluency in American Sign Language (ASL) preferred.
  • Experience working with students who are deaf or hard of hearing in an educational setting.
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to travel between multiple school sites as an itinerant teacher.
