Position: Chemistry Instructor, AdjunctDepartment: AcademicsReports To: Dean, Academic Operations, Policies, and Supports Summary:The Adjunct Chemistry Instructor will teach various Chemistry classes, including General, Organic, and Biochemistry. Faculty at Louisburg College are expected to perform their duties as described in the job description, demonstrate a commitment to the College's mission, promote high ethical standards, and foster an atmosphere of collegiality. Faculty must also fulfill their responsibilities as established by Louisburg College, mandated by state and federal policy, and required by accreditation standards. This position is a 10-month, part-time position - August to May.This position is on-campus only. Louisburg College does not have any online opportunities at this time.Essential Functions:

Teach a variety of Chemistry classes.

Participate in appropriate professional development activities

Willingness to assist students with learning disabilities or learning differences

Maintain scheduled office hours to assist students

Complete other duties as assigned by the Division Executive Director, the Dean of Operations, Vice President of Academic Life

Qualifications:

Requires a Master's degree with at least 18 graduate credits in Chemistry

Classroom teaching experience in higher education preferred but not required

Candidates will be required to successfully complete a background check

Successful experience working with diverse populations

Passion for learning and for seeking creative ways to teach students how to learn
