Description:
RESPONSIBLE FOR:
The staffnurse provides nursing care to patients from birth through thelifecycle utilizing nursing processes to assess, plan, implement,and evaluate the care for patients. He/she functions within theframework of the policies and procedures of the organization anddemonstrates professional growth and accountability. The staffnurse is responsible for maintaining standards of practice,coordinating patient care activities of all assigned staff in theprovision of quality nursingcare.

MINIMUM EDUCATIONREQUIRED:Graduateof a nursing program

MINIMUMEXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
New Graduates of anursing program eligible

MINIMUMLICENSURE/CERTIFICATION REQUIRED BYLAW:
Current License in the State ofGeorgia as a Registered Nurse or NLC/eNLC MultistateLicense.
BLS certificationrequired.

ADDITIONALQUALIFICATIONS:
For PRN positions: One yearof nursing experience in a hospital setting isrequired
Bachelors degree preferred
Advancedcertification in field of specialty, if applicable (seeaddendum)
Nursing Experience in Hospital SettingPreferred

Qualifications:
MINIMUMEDUCATION REQUIRED:
Graduate of an LPNprogram

MINIMUM EXPERIENCEREQUIRED:
New graduates of an accredited nursingschool are eligible.

MINIMUMLICENSURE/CERTIFICATION REQUIRED BY LAW:

Demonstrated clinical competencyin the specialty area applying for preferred
NursingExperience in Hospital Setting Preferred
If working inthe Emergency Department, ALS/ACLS and PALS required
(LPNs new to specialty will complete applicablecertifications within 6 months of start date)
ExperiencedEmergency Department nurses will have 6 months to obtain the PALScertification.
