Job Title:Student Support SpecialistDepartment:Student Life | Student Wellness Center

The Monda Student Resource Center Support Specialist for the Monda Student Resource Center (MSRC) will assist the mission of the Monda Student Resource Center, including the on-campus food pantry through the Buckeye Food Alliance (BFA) and inclusive clothing closet; establish and maintain partnerships with both existing and emergent on and off-campus entities to further the growth of the MSRC; identify and acquire new partnerships to increase essential needs services and resources that exist both on and off-campus that support the mission of the MSRC; directly support students that are utilizing or seeking essential needs support services by assessing, coaching and connecting students to essential needs support including but not limited to crisis intervention, food insecurity, clothing needs, mental health counseling, unsafe domestic situations, financial coaching and housing issues; support and referral for appropriate health intervention resources; provide one-on-one coaching support for students seeking access to essential needs resources; coordinates, implements and assesses new and existing educational and wellness programs targeting under-served students; fosters relationships with students, staff, faculty and professionals from central Ohio and departments across campus to cultivate innovative programs and interventions to meet the diverse needs of the student population; provides informational and referral coordination of both on and off-campus essential needs resources; provide access to services and improve the well-being of students seeking additional support; develops and manages formal assessments of MSRC case management initiatives; assists in the development, implementation and reporting of formal assessments; analyzes assessments that provide baseline data; identifies program and service needs; evaluates the effectiveness of programs and services; records and reports emerging trends; maintains privacy when dealing with student information and sensitive situations; aids in developing and maintaining website and social media content to disseminate health education; provides administrative support for the program and coordinating outreach through social media and other events in order to promote the MSRC and other essential needs information to Ohio State students, faculty, staff and off-campus partners; assists with development and implementation of campus outreach programs, campaigns and marketing initiatives to raise awareness of MSRC; serves as the main point of contact for both current and perspective students seeking essential needs support as well as parents, faculty and staff in relation to best serving and being an ally to those in need of essential needs support; Other duties as assigned; evening and weekend hours may be required. Must be able to push and pull up to 50 pounds, be able to bend, twist and stand for periods of time when receiving, organizing and replenishing shelves with a wide variety of items.

MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience. 2 years of relevant experience required. 2-4 years of relevant experience preferred.

Demonstrated experience in problem-solving, decision-making, conflict resolution and referral techniques; Skilled in coordinating, directing, evaluating, and implementing services for individuals with multiple personal and life challenges (preferably in a higher education setting); Demonstrated knowledge of health promotion, behavior change, and population-based theories and models; Working knowledge of undergraduate and graduate student development theories to explain college student behavior; Demonstrated knowledge of national research, current issues, and recent events regarding college student supports and resources, particularly under-served populations.

Physical Requirements: This position has some physical expectations for moving and replenishing food and personal care items. Must be able to push and pull up to 50 pounds, be able to bend, twist and stand for periods of time when receiving and replenishing shelves with a wide variety of items.

The starting pay range for this position is $19.52 - $26.04/Hourly.
