Promotion Potential: This position involves a multi-grade career ladder. The major duties listed below represent the full performance level of GS-11. At the GS- 07 grade level, you will perform assignments of a more limited scope and with less independence. You will progressively acquire the background necessary to perform at the full performance level of GS-11. Promotion is at the discretion of the supervisor and is contingent upon satisfactory performance, availability of higher level work, and availability of funds.
The primary responsibility is to provide budget support for the increasing complexity of the budget process re1ated to the integration of the VA/Navy into a Federal Health Care Center (FHCC); In this capacity, the employee serves as the secondary Budget Analyst for the North Chicago VAMC. The Employee tinder the direction of the North Chicago AFO or Signee. Will assist the primary budget analyst,
Provide assistance to all Medical Center Programs for established policies, regulations procedures and changes in the preparation of their budget requests. Reviews cost records and furnishes historical cost data to program officials.
Assists primary budget analyst establishing cost criteria for subsequent use in comparing budget estimates. Consolidates
estimates submitted by program officials .and prepares them for review by primary Budget Analyst.
Monitor the propriety and 1lle of expenditures of budgeted funds through contacts with Program Officials, review of written documents and examination of accounting record. Provides information to Assistant _Fiscal Officer at the respective site that will help to Determine the validity of request for additional funds or overtime funding for fund control points and service.
Work Schedule: Monday - Friday (8:00am - 4:30pm)
