SUMMARY
We are currently seeking a Pharmacy Tech Supervisor to join our Hospital Inpatient Pharmacy team. Current vacancy is full time with benefits, 80 hours per pay period, day/evening rotating shifts, ocassional nights and weekends.
Under the direct supervision of the Pharmacy Supervisor, Manager, and Director, the Technician Supervisor is responsible for directing and coordinating all activities related to pharmacy operations performed by pharmacy technicians. The Pharmacy Technician Supervisor maintains high standards within the department and translates policies and pharmacy procedures into daily operations in accordance with state and federal laws. Supports the values of the organization by demonstrating personal responsibility, respect for self and others, innovation through teamwork, dedication to caring, and excellence in customer service.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Fosters an environment of teamwork among pharmacy staff and with external customers
- Assesses daily workload and coordinates assignments for pharmacy technicians to ensure quality, safe care for the patient
- Creates schedules for Technicians and/or Pharmacists
- Responsible for hiring, performance evaluations, and disciplinary actions (when needed) for pharmacy technicians under the supervision of Pharmacy leadership
- Provides or arranges training and department orientation for new pharmacy staff members
- Ensures training, certifications, registrations and competencies are documented and current for pharmacy technicians
- Demonstrates fiscal leadership and responsibility by utilizing hospital resources wisely. This includes department space, equipment, and human resources
- Meets internal and external customer service expectations and promotes the continuous improvement philosophy of the department and the hospital
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Education/ Work Experience:
- High School Diploma or GED
- Graduate of an accredited Pharmacy Technician Program or a 240 hour employer based Technician training program
- Specialized training related to position
Preferred Qualifications:
- BA or BS degree and/or
- 5 years of Pharmacy experience
Knowledge/ Skills/ Abilities:
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Computer skills
Leadership Knowledge/ Skills/ Abilities:
- Skilled in overseeing the efforts of individuals within the department
- Ability to effectively involve department staff in the application of quality measurement and improvement tools
- Skilled in fostering a positive workplace culture and building inclusive workplace teams
- Demonstrated ability to quickly learn new technologies and systems and provide instruction on complex processes
- Capable of assisting managers with decisions and activities
- Effective use of all Windows-based applications such as Word, Excel and Power Point
- Ability to appropriately prioritize and carry-out work
- Ability to comfortably and effectively facilitate meetings and feedback sessions
License/Certifications:
- Current Pharmacy Technician Registration with MN State Board of Pharmacy
- Board Certified Technician - PTCB or ExCPT
