We make Southern Arizona a more equitable place to live by investing in high-potential nonprofits working in the areas of early childhood education, workforce development, racial and gender justice, and those serving historically marginalized communities. We bridge the gap between philanthropists and nonprofits through grant-making and capacity-building relationships, using a 2Gen approach to create generational change in our community.

 

SVP Tucson is in a period of rapid transformation and growth. Currently, we have:

an operating budget of $1,800,000 a staff of 8 FTE 150 Investor Partners a portfolio of 16 current and 92 alumni Nonprofit Partners

Through our unique membership model, individuals and corporations make an annual philanthropic investment in SVP Tucson and have the opportunity to engage directly through strategically designed projects that include capacity building, professional coaching, and community convening.

While Tucson offers a great lifestyle, not everyone can access it. Many in our community, especially

female-headed households with young children, face high poverty rates—around 20% overall and 34.6% for this demographic. This highlights why SVP Tucson is crucial, as we work to enhance nonprofit capacity and collaboration to uplift families economically, socially, and mentally.

 

SVP Tucson is on an exciting trajectory of impact and we are looking for a strategic and high-performance leader who can build and nurture relationships at all levels. As CEO of SVP Tucson, you will have an exciting opportunity to advance our vision: creating a community where everyone thrives.

  Foundational Responsibilities:

The President and CEO will provide strategic and tactical leadership, working in partnership with the Board of Directors and Staff to advance SVP Tucson’s mission by:

 

Relationship-Centered Leadership:

Inspire SVP Tucson Partners (members) and potential Partners to deepen their investment and commitment to SVP Tucson’s mission and vision Effectively engage with the Board of Directors, providing clear, timely reporting that promotes strategic conversation and deliberation Compassionately and creatively lead Nonprofit Partners to build collaborative capacity Hire, manage, and coach a highly competent leadership team and staff Maintain awareness of community needs and opportunities, as well as a wide understanding of the trends in nonprofit and philanthropic ecosystems

 

Build and maintain relationships with relevant peers in local and national philanthropy, government, nonprofit sector, and business community to leverage impact

 

Financial Stewardship:

Continue the growth and diversification of revenue streams to meet goals, including major gifts, partner expansion, grants, corporate partnerships, government and planned giving Use financial information provided by the Community Foundation for Southern Arizona (CFSA; SVP is a Supporting Organization of CFSA) to develop clear communications on financial performance and trends, prepare budgets for various programs and the organization as a whole, and prepare cash flow projections. Create clear and concise financial dashboards for quarterly finance committee meetings; and ensure SVP Tucson meets IRS reporting requirements

 

Organizational Management:

Effectively execute SVP Tucson programs including Fast Pitch and the 2 Gen Collaboration Champion ongoing organizational outcomes, make improvements where needed, and communicate results to the Board, Partners, and other constituents Consistently achieve high standards of internal operations (finance and administration, systems, processes, communications, and events)

  Required Competencies:

In-depth and proven experience with fund development and donor relations Proven track record of building trusting relationships with people of diverse backgrounds, perspectives, cultures, and professional experiences Demonstrated track record of organizational and financial management Innovative professional with a minimum of 5-7 years of experience in increasingly broad leadership and management roles

Salary & Benefits: Salary plus competitive benefits DOE (dependent on experience) starting $135,000.
