Lead Diesel Mechanic

We have an immediate opening for a reliable Lead Diesel Mechanic to work in our Portland, OR shop. This is a full-time position with opportunity to grow.
Position Responsibilities:
• Work on and oversee the maintenance and repair of diesel trucks (class 8) and 53’ trailers.
• Supervise, train, mentor and assign work to shop mechanics and ensure safe operating conditions.
• Ensure the shop area remains clean, organized, and free of hazards.
• Respond to phone calls and emails.
• Complete repair orders, inspections, and inventories
• Perform other duties/tasks as assigned
Qualifications:
• 3 years of lead diesel mechanic experience
• Must have 49 CFR 396.19 and 396.25 certifications
• Valid driver’s license with a clean 3-year MVR – CDL preferred but not required.
• Skilled with computers, including Windows and Microsoft Office and AS400/ TMW
• Able to quickly learn new programs and processes
• Able to communicate professionally both verbally and in writing
• Reliable and dependable with a strong attendance history
Compensation & Shift:
• Full-time, Friday-Monday day shift position with 10-hour workday and 30-minute lunch
• Starting wage of $47-$50 per hour depending on experience and qualifications
• Full benefit package to include: Medica/Dental/Vision insurance, Life/short/long term disability insurance, 401K with employer match and PTO.
