Duties

All MWEOC staff have emergency assignments and are considered deployed in place. Exercises and activations are planned and unplanned, and may require long hours, nights, weekends and holidays.

All MWEOC employees are: (1) required to use a government-issued electronic device (to include cellular phones); (2) subject to recall during emergency situations; and (3) required to perform work in locations both above and below ground.

What will I do in this position if hired?

In this position, you will serve as a Visual Information Specialist in the Multimedia and Production Section responsible for operating complex television production equipment and creating a wide variety of multimedia products. Typical assignments include:
Consulting with organizational leadership to determine the specific multimedia material to be used, the overall theme, and the presentation method; recommending appropriate materials, methods and techniques relevant to each project. Operating a wide range of still and video camera equipment to incorporate imagery into a finished product using non-linear video editing equipment and other graphic workstations. Preparing exhibits and presentations that communicate information through the various multimedia for subject matter that may include photographs, illustrations, diagrams, graphs, objects, models, slides and charts which may be used in live or video-recorded speeches, lectures or presentations. Developing a wide variety of graphic images from initial planning stages through final production, using state of the art electronic and digital, computer associated techniques and technologies. Operating a variety of audiovisual and multimedia production equipment to include video cameras, video servers, video production switchers, lighting, and associated broadcast equipment.

Qualifications

Current Federal employees must have served 52 weeks at the next lower grade or equivalent grade band in the Federal service. The time-in-grade requirement must be met within 30 days of the closing date of this announcement.
To qualify for this position at the GS-12 level, you must possess one full year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-11 level in the Federal government, which has equipped you with the skills needed to successfully perform the duties of the position. Experience may be obtained in the federal government, a state or local government, or private sector, and must demonstrate the following:
Operating still camera equipment, processing images, and archiving images in proper format AND; Preparing exhibits and presentations using various multimedia for communications AND; Utilizing various software such as Adobe, Phot Shop and Flash for planning and finalizing complex graphic products and images.
