The Trust Mobile team is responsible for the mobile experiences within our Point of Sale applications that help Sellers to establish their identity and support them as issues arise. This spans features across authentication (sign-in and multi-factor), onboarding (Know Your Customer), account security, support, and help live messaging across the Square ecosystem of products.

As the Engineering Manager for Trust Mobile, you will work closely with multiple product, design, and engineering partner teams to lead the team in designing, building, and shipping new Point of Sale ecosystem features which enable our Sellers to onboard, grow their business, and get help fast when they need it most.

You will:

Coach, guide, and inspire the iOS and Android engineers responsible for the Trust Mobile flows and components Nurture and ensure a high level of engineering quality through well-structured client APIs, reusable components, and well-tested, maintainable software ​​Hold yourself and your team accountable to the standards of engineering that enables our customers to trust us with their sensitive data Make decisions with direct bearing on the course and success of the product, in consultation with your engineers and close collaboration with design and product management partners Partner with product owners to define and evangelize engineering and product strategies that will influence the direction of Square’s trust platform Collaborate closely with partner engineering managers to drive collaborative prioritization, technical design reviews, and high-quality technical execution



Qualifications:
Qualifications

You have:

3+ years of experience managing native mobile engineering teams 5+ years software development experience, ideally including hands-on mobile development before coming into management Excellent communication skills and ability to partner with cross functional teams. Experience designing, delivering, and guiding critical mobile features and capabilities at scale Strong understanding of the fundamentals of delivering successful software in a complex organizational environment Passion for native mobile iOS or Android development and delivering high quality delightful mobile experiences which look and feel amazing to use

Technologies we use and teach:

Kotlin and Swift for development, leveraging Square’s modern open source library, Workflow Unit, Snapshot, and Integration Tests Workflow, Blueprint, OkHttp and all of Square’s open source stack Protocol buffers for network transport Gradle for our build environment

Additional Information

Block takes a market-based approach to pay, and pay may vary depending on your location. U.S. locations are categorized into one of four zones based on a cost of labor index for that geographic area. The successful candidate’s starting pay will be determined based on job-related skills, experience, qualifications, work location, and market conditions. These ranges may be modified in the future.

Zone A: USD $207,900 - USD $311,900
Zone B: USD $197,500 - USD $296,300
Zone C: USD $187,100 - USD $280,700
Zone D: USD $176,700 - USD $265,100
