An HR Generalist is expected to be a conceptual thinker with fantastic organizational and conflict management skills. To ensure success, HR Generalists should exhibit strong decision-making skills with a deep understanding of employee relationships, staffing management and training. Top candidates will be comfortable managing grey areas, effective at scheduling and methodical in the recruitment process.

Responsibilities:

  • Recruits, interviews, and facilitates the hiring of qualified job applicants for open positions; collaborates with departmental managers to understand skills and competencies required for openings.

  • Implements new hire orientation and employee recognition programs.

  • Witnesses employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations.

  • Maintains in-depth knowledge of legal requirements related to day-to-day management of employees, reducing legal risks and ensuring regulatory compliance. Partners with the legal department as needed/required.

  • Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance.

  • Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.

  • Manages attendance log and progressive discipline associated.

  • Assist with updating all HR/Culture information, metrics and scorecard on operational communication boards and terminals

    Requirements:

  • Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills.

  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.

  • Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.

  • Thorough knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations.

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field required.

  • At least one year of human resource management experience preferred.

  • SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) or SHRM Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP) credential or ability to obtain certification within one year of employment.
