POSITION SUMMARY:

The Operations Accountant I is responsible for providing a wide range of accounting and financial skills, accurate and timely reporting and analysis, and assisting with the preparation of operating targets and annual budgets.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Perform and maintain processes to support accurate operational reporting.
  • Prepare financial and operational reports timely and accurately.
  • Support month and year end closing processes for operational accounting areas.
  • Assist with the budget and operating target processes.
  • Assist with annual physical inventory.
  • Analyze product cost changes.
  • Analyze account transactions.
  • Participate on process improvement teams within assigned functional areas.
  • Develop, maintain, and use standard operating procedures and/or work instructions.
  • Demonstrate regular attendance and timeliness in reporting to work, meetings, and completing assignments.
  • Ability to work and interact with others.

OTHER JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Perform special projects, as assigned.
  • Organize accounting records in an effective and efficient manner.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

Education: Bachelor degree in accounting, finance, or another related field preferred.

Experience: No previous experience required, if degreed. Minimum of 4 years of accounting or finance experience, if non-degreed. General plant or manufacturing accounting experience is preferred.
