Job Description

AECOM is seeking a talented Structural Engineer to join our World Class Rail Team in Philadelphia, PA.

AECOM’s Transit Systems Engineering Practice in Pennsylvania works on projects across North America on transportation structures such overhead electrification cantilevers, portal frames, transmission poles as well as sign structures that are critical to a nation’s transportation network and vital to local communities. The projects include steel and concrete structures of various types; transmission poles, light-rail support structures, caisson, spread footings, rehabilitation and replacement of existing structures delivered across many clients and through various delivery methods. This position offers opportunity to work within a well-established group that offers a diverse range of projects, technical challenges, and career development opportunities.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

- Work independently to perform structural engineering tasks.
- Conceptual, preliminary, and detailed final design of steel structures and corresponding foundations.
- Assessment and rehabilitation design of existing structures.
- Use of computer software for the analysis and design of structures and their foundations.
- Preparation of technical specifications, technical reports, design calculations, plans and provisions of construction phase services.
- Project engineering and project management.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

- Bachelor's Degree in Structural Engineering, Civil Engineering or related and 2 years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.

Preferred Qualifications:

- Engineer in Training (EIT) certification
- Master's Degree in Civil Engineering with structures focus
- Experience working on Amtrak, SEPTA or PATCO projects
- Experience in BIM delivery and/or modeling
