Maintenance Control Technician

Amentum is seeking a Maintenance Control Technician to join our team in Hawthorne, Nevada to support the Hawthorne Army Depot. The Maintenance Control Technician will be a key staff member at the on-site maintenance control center. Typical functions include maintenance planning and scheduling task across various maintenance trades, maintaining the automated maintenance and repair control system, prepares, edits, and processes work request and will facilitate trouble calls pertaining to maintenance of equipment and facilities.
Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret US Government Clearance. Note: US Citizenship is required to obtain a Secret Clearance.
Typical Responsibilities Include:
- Receives, edits, and processes work requests and trouble calls pertaining to maintenance of equipment and facilities/real property and contact appropriate branch or section for repair in emergency.
- Prepare work orders involving major repair or maintenance of equipment/facilities using the automated maintenance control computer system.
- Verify man-hours and material costs on equipment/facilities for input into the history files.
- Total and apply labor and material costs to work orders.
- Maintain the automated maintenance and repair control system.
- Initiate and maintain necessary records to facilitate planning and scheduling.
- Reads and understands Task Hazard Analysis for identifying risks to health and safety during job specific tasks in the workplace.
- Responsible for reporting potential real environmental concerns to the Environmental Service.
- Perform complex maintenance planning and scheduling tasks that require the ability to plan and perform a sequence of diversified duties where standard or recognized methods are available.
- Make work decisions based on methods of performance where problems and situations encountered are based largely on precedent or practice.
- Create complex job plans and established sequenced job plans and schedules.
- Create assets within Maximo and establish PM records/schedule.
- Use the Maximo reports that are registered in Maximo including CDRLs.
- Perform complex queries within Maximo, and exports results to Excel.
- Compile data for CDRL submission.
- May be assigned occasional duties of a higher level of difficulty than those listed above.
- Performs other duties of the same or lower level of difficulty as assigned.
- Prepare correspondence and reports.
- Perform all work safely and with the utmost concern for the safety of self and other employees.
- Perform all work in compliance with environmental permits and regulations.
- Be at work when scheduled and maintain a good attendance record.
- May be required to work overtime.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Must be 18 years or older.
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a valid State driver’s license.
- Must also be able to obtain and maintain the appropriate level of government security clearance as well as a clearance through the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms and be favorably vetted through the NCIC III System.
- Must be a United States or naturalized citizen able to obtain and maintain Hawthorne Army Depot (HWAD) site access.
- Good writing and verbal communication skills.
- Must be computer literate in common software applications and able to operate general office equipment for efficient medical clinic functions.
- Must maintain fitness-for-duty standards to perform the essential functions of the position, to include any HWAD drill, contingency and/or emergency requirement.
- Must be able to work in a constant state of alertness in a safe manner.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain all certifications as required by the Master Training Plan.
Desired Qualifications
- One (1) year experience as a Maintenance Control Clerk/Specialist.
- Good clerical skills with data processing skills required.
- Candidate must have good working knowledge of Excel spreadsheets and report query building.
- Applicant must be thoroughly familiar with scheduling and production control procedures and policies.
- Must be proficient in MAXIMO.
- Must be familiar with asset management/real property tasks and procedures.
- Must be able to demonstrate independent decision-making skills where problems and situations are based largely on precedent or practice.
- Must be fluent in creating Job Plans, Sequencing, and Preventative Maintenance schedules.
Safety Sensitive Position
This position is designated as non-safety sensitive position and is subject to the requirements of the HWAD Medical Surveillance Plan and Matrix and the HWAD A&D Program. As a condition of employment, candidates and incumbents must favorably complete a personnel security investigation, urinalysis testing, respiratory screening, and must meet and maintain personnel suitability and reliability requirements established by the Hawthorne Army Depot Commander and HWAD O&M contract requirements.
