Reporting to the Music Department Chair, this 10-month Coordinator of Jazz Studies faculty position is a fulltime tenure track or fulltime non-tenure track position, with full benefits, rank dependent on the successful candidate's qualifications and experience. The Coordinator of Jazz Studies faculty position in the Department of Music supports the Bachelor of Music and the Master of Music program in Jazz Studies. In close collaboration with the Director of Jazz Studies and the department Chairperson, the incumbent coordinates the Jazz Studies Program, overseeing program administration, supervising administrative personnel, recruiting, fund raising, providing curricular and academic oversight, supporting student performances of all types, producing professional concerts, and teaching classes in the program.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Required Qualifications

Doctoral degree (DMA/Ph.D.) or commensurate higher education academic experience, including but not limited to areas of scholarship and administrative proficiency. ABD may be considered.
One to two years' experience as an administrator in higher education.
Experience as a professional jazz musician.
Three years college teaching experience in Jazz Studies.
Computer expertise involving word and music processing, spreadsheets and database (e.g., Microsoft Word and Excel).
Preferred Qualifications

Maintenance of an active career as a performer or scholar with performances, presentations at conferences.
Ability to actively recruit and retain outstanding faculty and students.
Facility with and experience in with the digital realm, including social media, internet use, AI, and music technology (e.g., DAWs, notation software, etc.)
