Job Summary:

In Systems Integration and Test (SI&T) we integrate, verify, and validate our products. We put our systems together, exercise them in the lab or in the field, measure and analyze performance, and make sure our products work the first time and every time. To accomplish this, we develop plans and procedures, debug and evaluate system functions and interfaces, develop test environments, and work together with our customers. Our Test Environments Team is seeking a Lab Lead to be part of our Lab Support section. The Lab Lead will be responsible for managing Engineering Labs, located in Goleta, that develops and tests products lines to support multiple mission areas.

This position is an onsite position located in Goleta, CA.

Responsibilities to Anticipate:

  • Provide Lab Lead oversite to implement and maintain Operations of Engineering Lab Areas; includes management of Lab Operating Procedure (LOP), Foreign Object Elimination (FOE), Electrostatic Discharge (ESD) policies, and Access Management.
  • Management of property, metrology, tool control, and Environment Health Safety & Sustainment.
  • Oversee audit/assessment preparation. Overseeing Engineering Lab Objective Evaluation and Voluntary Protection Program; develop corrective action plans and assist in the development of long-range objectives, including program goals.
  • Safeguarding of proprietary material, hardware, and documentation, utilizing defense material/property under Export Administration Regulations (ITAR Compliant).
  • Develop and implement communication plans, providing consulting support to functional and program management.
  • Responsibilities also include supporting AS 9100/ISO 9001 audits, DCMA audits and EHS audits.
  • Provide system engineering support across multiple programs that includes system integration, safety analysis, test fixture setup support, hardware installation & checkout, and/or engineering consulting.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 5 years of prior relevant experience unless prohibited by local laws/regulations.
  • Experience in an engineering lab environment area that includes safety, compliance, and/or property management.
  • Knowledgeable in lab safety and/or 6S (Housekeeping).
  • Experience with AS 9100/ISO 9001 audits.
  • Active and transferable U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start date. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Asset Management Systems experience (Aramis).
  • Data analysis and troubleshooting skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, able to work well with others and on teams. Highly motivated self-starter.
  • Working Knowledge of RI&S lab run rules, policies, and procedures.
  • Knowledge of ESD Controls (Garment control, wrist straps, SSWS, and monitoring).
  • Experience with Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project).
  • Experience with Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR).

The salary range for this role is 85,000 USD - 179,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
