SUMMARY

This position is responsible for the day-to-day processing of the department's payroll, accounts payable and receivable, invoices, and other financial records. Primary duties include tracking accounts, evaluating bookkeeping procedures, tracking, and processing State and Federal grants to ensure accuracy of financial records.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Organize accounting records such as pay registers, ledgers, and journal entries;
  • Perform analysis of accounts for month-end and year-end reconciliation;
  • Process, enter and reconcile invoices and payments;
  • Prepare and submit State and Federal grant invoices;
  • Accurate and timely processing of Accounts Payable process (AP) such as enter purchase requisitions, match purchase orders, invoices, and check disbursement;
  • Process and manage Account Receivables process (AR) such as process user fees and record grant revenue;
  • Resolve any discrepancies or issues;
  • Ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations;
  • Assist other members of the Fiscal Team as needed.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

High school graduate with one (1) year experience as a Fiscal Assistant/Accounting Tech II; or a high school graduate with three (3) years of work involving the maintenance of fiscal or financial records, including one (1) year of responsible work involving the application of accounting or fiscal principles and practices; or one (1) year of experience and an Associate's Degree in accounting or business administration.


KNOWLEDGE and SKILLS:

* Excellent math and bookkeeping skills;

* Organizational ability to work with internal and external deadline and constraints;

* Excellent inter-personal, oral and written communication skills;

* Must project a professional demeanor at all times and work well as part of a team;

* Ability to prioritize and accurately complete all fiscal office tasks;

* Proficient in MS Office, databases, and financial/accounting software.
