As a Transportation Analyst, you will:
Maintain the Geospatial layers within FRA such as the North American Rail Network (NARN), Grade Crossings, Grants, Mileposts, etc.
Develop solutions using spatial analysis based on current requirements.
Identify improvements of new functionality and efficiencies to utilize the most current GIS technology to provide better decision making for leadership and stakeholders.
Support the FRA Geospatial Information Officer (GIO) with the STB Carload Waybill Sample mapping and data products and with the maintenance and development of the FRA GIS program by providing support to internal and external stakeholders.
Assist with mapping support and development of geospatial web applications of railroad and transportation related information.
The ideal candidate for this position is a mid-level professional who can function independently and demonstrate leadership collaboration in team environments. You should also have strong analytical and communication skills, with knowledge in the area of the Geographic Information Systems.
