Duties
- Greet and verify patient screening information and ensure patient understanding of instructions.
- Properly and accurately label specimens, annotating time of collection, ensuring proper collection day and initialing all tubes collected.
- Maintain a clean and sanitary drawing area, restocks supplies as needed and maintains security of controlled items such as needles and syringes.
- Review requests for lab tests for accuracy prior to specimen procurement.
- Collect specimens into appropriate anticoagulant, preservative or clot tubes as required by test requested.
