Primary Purpose:

The Environmental Compliance Specialist position works collaboratively with the Environmental Compliance team to ensure compliance is achieved and maintained against all chemical distribution regulations through established workflows. The position requires flexibility, technical aptitude and strong project management skills in a dynamic and fast-paced work environment.

Deliverables:

  • Managing the Product Stewardship Forms Mailbox and assisting the Environmental Compliance team with moving the requests to completion in a timely manner.
  • Managing the EHS Air Team Mailbox and ensuring the business requests are directed to the right team member. Includes being responsible for preparation of Environmental Data Sheets (EDS) as requested.
  • Managing the CA DOJ Precursor Mailbox and assisting the CA DOJ Program SME to move the requests to completion on time and in compliance. Ensuring orders are processed in a timely manner by Customer Solutions and submitted to CA DOJ accurately.
  • Supporting the CA DOJ Program SME on monthly reporting, annual permit renewals, program documentation requirements and annual audits on program compliance and improvement opportunities.
  • Support of the ERA Air Emissions software program including monthly production data management and final report download for distribution to Operations, as well as assisting with speciation data gap closure and tank change management.
  • Managing the Enablon Regulatory Compliance Module and leading administrative functions.
  • Managing the Regulatory & Environmental Compliance team page and libraries on SharePoint and assisting the Environmental Compliance Director with aligning the Legacy Nexeo documents from a network drive to the SharePoint library.
  • Providing workflow guidance to internal stakeholders on delivery block issues received via the shared mailboxes.
  • Supporting the Environmental Compliance team with various accounting tasks including check requests, SAP PO/GR submittals, and invoice processing.

Education/Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in chemistry or EHS related field with experience in chemical management issues.
  • Ability to organize and manage a complex workload and projects in a fast-paced environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to be a trusted business partner with strong problem solving and analytical skills.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Excel), SharePoint, SAP, Salesforce and Analysis for Office.
  • Highly effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with all levels of the organization and with people of various backgrounds, experience, and education levels.
  • Perform responsibilities with a positive attitude and an ability to work with a minimal supervision.
