Lead Driver – Skyline Connect

Skyline Connect is looking for a dedicated and experienced Lead Driver to join our team This role is ideal for a seasoned driver who is ready to take on additional responsibilities while still enjoying the day-to-day driving experience. You’ll be an essential part of ensuring smooth operations and supporting our team, all while working in the stunning Big Sky, Montana area.

About Us: We are contracted by the Big Sky Transportation District to provide on-demand transportation for the general public through Skyline Big Sky Connect. You’ll be driving up to 13 passengers in our company Transit Vans around the Town Center and Meadow Village areas. All rides are dispatched and managed through a user-friendly app on a company phone.

Position Overview: As the Lead Driver, you will perform all standard driver duties and take on additional operational responsibilities. You’ll be the point of contact for operational issues, such as vehicle breakdowns, accidents, and staff no-shows, particularly when the Operations Manager is offsite. This role does not involve disciplinary actions, but you’ll act as the eyes and ears of the management team, keeping things running smoothly on the ground. We use transit vans that fit up to 13 passengers. Our shuttle service is a marriage of a city bus and rideshare. Riders request rides through an app and drivers receive rides through an app on a company phone.

A weekly management meeting (via Zoom or in person) will allow you to provide feedback on operations and suggest improvements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform regular driver duties: Transporting passengers safely and efficiently in company vans.

  • Act as the primary contact for operational issues during your shifts.

  • Notify management of breakdowns, accidents, or staffing concerns.

  • Attend weekly management meetings to provide input and feedback on operations.

  • Support smooth communication between drivers and management.

What We Offer:

  • Competitive pay: $29/hour.

  • $20 gas reimbursement per shift for drivers commuting from out of town (Bozeman, West Yellowstone, Ennis, etc.).

  • Full-time position with guaranteed overtime.

  • Afternoon/evening shifts, ensuring plenty of hours.

Requirements:

  • 5 years of professional driving experience

  • 1 year management experience

  • 25 years of age or older.

  • Clean driving record, passing background check, and motor vehicle report.

  • Comfortable driving in winter conditions.

  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.

Expected hours: 41 – 44 per week

Schedule: Wednesday-Sunday 2:45pm-11:45pm
