Position Summary:
Sovah Martinsville is seeking a PRN Radiology Tech Student to perform various imaging procedures by applicable scope and standards of practice.
- Assists technologist with obtaining radiographs with stationary and fluoroscopic equipment.
- Assists technologist with obtaining radiographs with portable units as deemed necessary on the nursing units as well as within the
- radiology department.
- Monitors patient condition continually and reports/responds to changes in status as appropriate.
- Prepares equipment and supplies.
- Assists technologists with positioning patients and the performance of imaging procedures.
- Assures appropriate orders are obtained and followed during the performance of all procedures.
- Verifies patient identification before the performance of any procedure.
Minimum Education:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Senior in a Program in Radiologic Technology required.
Required Skills:
- Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment, and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
- Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action. **Requires flexibility in scheduling and ability to work all shift patterns including week-ends and holidays to ensure continuity of care and appropriateness of imaging coverage to the patients of Sovah Health - Martinsville.**
Required Certifications/Licenses:
- Basic Life Support (BLS) American Heart Association (AHA) required.
- Registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists.
Minimum Work Experience:
- Current clinical experience in a Radiologic Technology program.
