Job Description

St. Mary's Medical Center is seeking a Mid-Level Provider for our Hospitalist. The Mid-Level Provider (Hospitalist Physician Extender) provides high quality and cost effective medical management of patients under the direction of the hospitalist physician as privileged by the medical center and within its stated scope of practice. The hospitalist physician extender collaborates with the hospitalist care team to coordinate and manage the process of patient care from the point of admission to the medical center through discharge.

Requirements

Education: Masters with a major in nursing and successful completion of an approved nurse practitioner program or Graduate of an approved Physician's Assistant program. Current licensure in the State of West Virginia with declaration of Advanced Practice Standing or Current licensure in the State of West Virginia National Certification in Physician Assistant (PANCE) PA-C. BLS/ACLS required. Must comply with West Virginia Code related to attaining and maintaining limited prescriptive privileges.

Experience:

A minimum of two (2) years experience practicing as an advanced professional nurse or PA-C preferred. Experience in hospital setting a plus.

Skills:

Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with clients, staff and other health care providers. Ability to use equipment needed for a thorough physical examination.
