3 Bles is a 20-bed adult Medicine and Oncology Unit. Clinical nurses on 3 Bles provide expert care for acutely ill oncology patients, specifically solid tumor. They also provide care for complex medical patients with a wide range of diagnoses. The nurses on 3 Bles are committed to cura personalis, care for the whole person, and actively involve families in the care of their patients throughout all stages of treatment.
Additionally, nearly 50% of 3 Bles nurses are Oncology Certified (OCN), demonstrating their specialty knowledge, experience and exceptional clinical judgment. Nurses on 3 Bles are active in collaborative governance, at the unit level and throughout the hospital. Both Oncology Units, 3 Bles and 2 Bles, share a Practice Council where nurses work together to improve clinical practice and promote professional development on both units.

Professional care provider who assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates the nursing care of patients from admission through discharge. In collaboration with the patient and family, provides theory-based professional nursing care and coordinates care delivery with various members of the interdisciplinary team.

Individualizes patients plan of care, focusing on short and long-range goals and effectively uses a variety of teaching resources to meet the learning needs of patients and families.
* Identifies actual and potential patient safety issues and acts accordingly while incorporating HRO quality and safety principles.
* Establishes priorities and delegates tasks to peers and ancillary staff as appropriate to scope of practice and unit requirements.
* Follows the chain of command by consulting with other healthcare professionals and seeks assistance as needed.
* Evaluates the patient's response to treatment and progress toward short and long-range goals and revises nursing interventions as appropriate.
* Initiates and monitors discharge planning activities in collaboration with other members of the interdisciplinary team.
