About The Role
The People Operations Partner leads the charge in cultivating a thriving workplace culture at SmartThings, reporting to and collaborating closely with the Head of People to guide team members through every stage of the employee lifecycle. Responsibilities include enhancing the employee experience through engagement initiatives, managing recognition and compensation programs, and ensuring discoverability and resource access. Additionally, you'll drive SmartThings' growth by optimizing internal systems and policies and advocating for evolving workforce needs.

Key Responsibilities

In this role, you will:

  • Ensure the integrity and efficacy of our existing HR tools, including our HRIS, benefits, and LOA administration tools, and our L&D, performance, and engagement platforms.
  • Continually optimize People tooling and programs to support SmartThings’ evolving needs, through projects such as migrating our HRIS, building out support for remote team members, or implementing net new tools and platforms.
  • Support our team members through other employee lifecycles milestones such as role transitions and leaves of absence.
  • Administer and champion our compensation philosophy, practices, and processes advocating for fairness and transparency in decision-making processes.
  • Own our benefits programs and annual open enrollment process; partner with our PEO to lead ongoing employee benefits enrollment and administration.
  • Ensure team members have access to the information, support, and resources needed to grow and succeed in their roles and careers; build policies and documentation to enable self-directed learning and development, and equip managers to lead effective teams.
  • Collaborate with external counsel to lead immigration support for our team, including sponsorship for H-1B visas and green card applications.
  • Support the Head of People, Finance, and Legal teams on internal compliance programs and initiatives.
  • Assist the Head of People by flexing into HRBP responsibilities as needed, such as by conducting listening tours, coaching managers, or leading performance calibration discussions.
  • Ensure that diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging are woven into the fabric of SmartThings’ people policies, programs, and processes.

What You Bring On Day One (Required Qualifications)
  • Bachelor's degree required
  • 5+ years of relevant People/HR experience
  • Takes pride in providing excellent customer service, being reliable, and effectively executing tasks with consistent follow-through
  • A strong sense of ownership and accountability
  • A love for talent analytics and dashboard creation
  • Proven success in building and optimizing systems and processes
  • Fluency in HR technology trends and best practices
  • Experience using cloud tools (HRIS and ATS systems, Google Drive, Dropbox, etc.)
  • Discretion and ability to safeguard confidential information
  • Uphold processes and procedures and provide responsive and engaging service
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal

Compensation for this role for a candidate based in Minneapolis is expected to be between $75,705 and $107,501
