A day in the life of this role:

Are you a dynamic leader passionate about improving community health? As the Executive Director (ED) of Healthy Waltham, you will spearhead the organization's efforts to create a healthier living environment in Waltham. With a primary focus on fundraising, sustainability, staff and program management, and mission execution. Reporting to the Board of Directors, you will play a pivotal role in driving growth and impact.

What's in it for you:

Compensation Package: The Executive Director position at Healthy Waltham comes with a competitive salary range of $90,000 to 95,000. While traditional benefits are not currently offered due to the organization's size, we are dedicated to exploring and implementing a comprehensive benefits package that aligns with candidates' needs and expectations, reflecting our commitment to recognizing leadership impact.

Dynamic Work Environment: With exciting changes ahead, including the launch of a new site in Waltham, the Executive Director will play a crucial role in this expansion. This 35- hour-per-week role involves a mix of onsite presence, active participation in events and fundraising activities (potentially on nights and weekends), and flexibility for remote work.

Responsibilities:

Fundraising & Community Outreach: The Executive Director (ED) leads Fundraising & Community Outreach, directing efforts to sustain and elevate funding levels by securing grants, sponsorships, and government funding. They manage annual appeals, identify major gifts, and organize fundraising events. The ED promotes Healthy Waltham (HW) to stakeholders, including elected officials, funders, and the media, encouraging collaboration with nonprofits. Active involvement in regional and local committees is expected, and the ED oversees communication enhancement, including web presence and social media.

Leadership: The ED guides program, organizational, and financial planning with the Board and staff. They lead board committee work, facilitate meetings, and involve the board in strategic direction. The ED plays a key role in HW's rebranding, advances the strategic plan, collaborates with staff on the Healthy Waltham Community Market, and advocates for mission-aligned change in a diverse community.

Management and Budget: The ED collaborates with staff, the Finance Committee, and the board to prepare budgets ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations by maintaining official records and documents alongside the board and legal counsel. The ED, in conjunction with the board, conducts official correspondence and executes legal documents. Additionally, the ED supervises and annually evaluates direct reports and consultants.
