Nature and Scope of Job We are seeking a Sr. Contracts Manager to join our team and oversee various contract-related activities. This Sr. Contracts Manager will ensure compliance with organizational standards and manage relationships with external and internal stakeholders. This role involves contract development, negotiation, and management using well-defined procedures and detailed instruction. Willing to consider remote candidates for the right fit. Primary Responsibilities Draft, review, and manage contracts including distribution and related distribution service agreements, simple amendments, and contract waivers. Maintain contract records in the APTTUS CLM system. Liaise with external customers or vendors to ensure satisfactory service levels. Manage contract inquiries and resolve escalated contract-related issues. Coordinate actions with internal cross-functional and legal teams during contract development, negotiations, and tracking stages. Assist the Director of Trade Contracts with responses to stakeholders during contract review, development, and the post-execution setup process. Identify and negotiate necessary changes in contracts to mitigate organizational risks. Assist in developing and implementing standardized departmental operating procedures and ensure compliance with local legislation. Build relationships with senior management and cross-functional teams to facilitate current and future needs. Participate in and assist with recommendations on contracting structure for new product launches. Analys and interpret business issues, oppoturnties, and reccomend solutions. Follow SOPs related to contracts. Qualifications At least 8 years of contract development and management experience preferred. Minimum of 5 years of related experience in the biotech or pharmaceutical industry. Proven project management skills. Working knowledge of contract structure and legal terms. Ability to resolve complex and escalated issues. Strong customer service orientation while maintaining a high level of integrity and confidentiality. Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal skills with an emphasis on time management and follow-through. Ability to multi-task and prioritize in a deadline-intensive environment. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Microsoft Outlook, SharePoint, and comfort with learning new information technology systems. Familiarity with Salesforce, APTTUS CLM, or other CLM tools is a plus. A pharmaceutical or Life Science background is ideal. Past Gilead experience is a plus. Strong negotiation skills and a thorough understanding of contract structure is vital. Familiarity with Oracle, SAP, or Ariba is beneficial. Highly detail-oriented, producing high-quality work. Education & Certifications An Associate’s degree in Business Administration or Paralegal Studies with contract experience or a Paralegal certificate with contract experience is required. The compensation described above is subject to change and could be higher or lower than the range described based on market survey data or budget.
