Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist is seeking a BC/BE GI Clinician Researcher to join their growing faculty practices in Greensboro and Winston-Salem, NC. This position is classified as an Clinical Faculty position (Assistant or Associate Professor) in the Department of Internal Medicine Section on Gastroenterology & Hepatology at the Wake Forest University School of Medicine (Wake Forest GI). Wake Forest GI and Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center provide the full spectrum of comprehensive and subspecialty GI and GI Endoscopy care, treatment and services. Outpatient Clinics are located in Winston-Salem and Greensboro. Endoscopy is offered at hospital and freestanding Outpatient Endoscopy ASC's.
HIGHLIGHTS:
- Join the 22+ highly respected clinical faulty of Wake Forest School of Medicine
- Work with partners to perform hospital-based outpatient procedures
- Participation in education of GI Fellows and other learners
- Supervision and collaboration with a growing team of GI APPs (IP/OP)
- Flexible schedule of 3 days of GI Endoscopy - 1 days of GI outpatient clinicbased on need
- Expect 12-15 endoscopy cases/day and ~9 visits per half day clinic session
- Strong culture of collaboration and innovation with colleagues across the health system
- IP Consults and Call shared among the faculty
- Salary plus incentive
JOB SUMMARY:
Physicians work to care for patients in a variety of ways, from treating chronic illnesses to advising about preventative healthcare. While physician specialties might vary, the commonality across specialties is that physicians primarily work to diagnose and treat injuries and illnesses. They often do this by performing physical exams, taking medical histories, performing and interpreting diagnostic tests, and recommending a plan of treatment.
REQUIREMENTS:
- MD/DO, BC/BE in Gastroenterology
- Successful record of clinical and service excellence
- Unrestricted North Carolina medical license or eligible
- Obtain and maintain medical staff privileges at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center and regional hospitals
- Certification in BCLS, ACLS required if stress tests performed or as required by specialty.
- Current Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) and Department of Public Safety (DPS) registration, for prescription writing required.
