Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems is seeking a Senior Principal Software Engineer to join our diverse team of professionals. As a member of the Model Based Sustainment within Product Support team, you will define, develop, implement, and transition new technology solutions for the digital ecosystem of various government platforms with a focus on data aggregation for maintenance and sustainment processes and maintenance work instructions. Designs, develops, documents, tests and debugs applications software and systems that contain logical and mathematical solutions. Conducts multidisciplinary research and collaborates with equipment designers and/or hardware engineers in the planning, design, development, and utilization of electronic data processing systems for product and commercial software. Determines computer user needs; analyzes system capabilities to resolve problems on program intent, output requirements, input data acquisition, programming techniques and controls; Ensures software standards are met.
The position requires a strong understanding of computer and database systems and application development techniques. You must have a proven ability to drive business results with your data-based insights. The desired candidate will have a passion for discovering solutions hidden in large data sets and working with stakeholders to improve business outcomes.
Perform complex development based on user data requirements and processes
Construct complex system / data architectures
Build and support dashboards and visuals
Assess new technologies and software platforms
Support project management and planning as required
Bachelor’s Degree in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) with 9 years' experience with information systems, data analytics and/or computer programming; OR Master's Degree in STEM with 7 years' experience with information systems, data analytics and/or computer programming; OR PhD STEM with 4 years' experience with information systems, data analytics and/or computer programming
Experience with querying relational databases
Experience with Oracle APEX
Experience with Javascript, HTML / CSS to support dashboards and visuals
Experience working with and creating data architectures
Ability to perform data analysis and report findings
This position requires an active DoD Secret Clearance and the ability to obtain and maintain a Top-Secret Clearance as well as Program Special access.
Ability to travel 10-15% of the time
Experience with PL / SQL
Experience with Oracle Forms & Reports
Experience in the development and sustainment of military platforms.
Current active Secret or Top-Secret clearance preferred
